Geospatial Data Engineer (Customer-Facing)

About Us:  Atomic Maps is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Geospatial Data Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in providing geospatial solutions for our customer’s data platform (large US-based tech company).

Responsibilities:

  • Customer-Facing Expertise:

    • Collaborate with clients to understand their geospatial data requirements and challenges.

    • Provide technical guidance and support in articulating geospatial solutions to address customer needs.

    • Conduct presentations and workshops to showcase prototypes and solutions.

  • Prototype and Solution Engineering:

    • Develop and implement geospatial prototypes to demonstrate potential solutions for customer-specific use cases.

    • Engineer scalable and efficient solutions for geospatial data processing and analysis.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate geospatial features into the social network platform.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in using Hive and Presto for large-scale data processing.

    • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.

    • Experience with arcpy for geospatial data processing and automation.

    • Familiarity with H3 for spatial indexing and efficient querying.

    • Expertise in site selection and site suitability analysis for optimal geospatial decision-making.

  • Data Management:

    • Design and implement geospatial data models to optimize storage and retrieval.

    • Ensure data quality and integrity through effective data cleansing and validation processes.

  • Continuous Learning:

    • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in geospatial data engineering.

    • Share knowledge and insights with the team to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Geospatial Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in geospatial data engineering with a focus on customer-facing roles.

  • Strong proficiency in using geospatial tools and libraries.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
